Our Green Credentials

We have always had a strong desire here at Ecotronic to promote anything which is of benefit to the earth’s resources and when we began to think about the toy industry, we realised just how wasteful parts of it are.

With this in mind, and having produced so many products with such a natural material as wood, the next step was to try and see if our products could begin to reflect our environmental stance, and start to make a difference.

We set about developing electronic toys without the use of traditional batteries – still retaining all the functions you would normally expect of electronic toys but doing away with the need for replacing batteries, finding a screwdriver to undo the battery casing and most importantly, no batteries to throw away on landfill sites.  Batteries have particularly nasty chemicals in them which are highly undesirable in landfill.

Out of this our Ecotronic Range was born.  We believe these electronic products are a huge step in the right direction of producing more environmentally friendly toys without compromising on the functionality or quality.  Our range is constantly being added to and improved.  We also looked carefully at the packaging of toys which are often placed in excessive packs with un-necessary ties and plastic.  Our Gekopaks are made from 100% recycled pulp and are 100% recyclable making them the ultimate environmentally friendly packaging!!

As a company we like to do the little things which can make a difference … paper shredding for packing our products up instead of throwing away, turning lights and electrical products off at night, recycling where we can – and the use of emails and electronic filing instead of paperwork where possible!  It all makes a difference.
